More Info- Band members were most recently Mary Timony (from the girl punk band, Autoclave) on vocals and guitar, Ash Bowie (who was at one point the boyfirend of Timony) on bass, and Shawn King Devlin on drums.  The band appeared in the cult roadmovie Half-cocked in 1994.  The band formed in 1992 and by 1998 were no longer together.  Mary Timony proceeded to do some solo projects as well as an EP under the name The Spells in a duo project with Sleater-Kinney's Carrie Brownstein.

More Info- Albert Louie Hammond Jr. was born in Los Angeles, CA on April 9th, 1980.  His father is singer/songwriter Albert Hammond, and his mother is the Argentinian model Claudia Fernández.  Albert Jr. is a member of The Strokes as well.  He went to a prestigious boarding school when he was 13 where he met Julian Casablancas.  Later in 1998 he and Casablancas met in NYC and formed their band The Strokes with some of Casablancas old schoolmates.  Hammond Jr. often wears formal three-piece suits at shows and is set to put out a line of suits with designer/stylist Ilaria Urbinati in the future.

More Info- The Mountain Goats formed in Claremont, CA by singer/songwriter John Darnielle.  He is pretty much The Mountain Goats, though he collaborates with other artists at times.  He is a spectacular lyricist.  While in California he went to Pitzer College where he graduated in 1995, he also worked as a psychiatric nurse.  The band's music is featured in the TV show Weeds.  In 2009, The band was on The Colbert Report.
